Halo 3 first came out in 2007 for Xbox 360. It is a first-person shooting game which concludes the arc of the Halo Trilogy. The first edition, Halo: Combat Evolved came in 2001. Followed by Halo 2 which came out in 2004. Halo 3’s story revolves around the interstellar war between 26th-century humanity, alien parasite Flood and a foreign legion called the Covenant.
On the first day of its release, the game grossed US$170 million. Within a week the figure was $300 million. Another mind-boggling fact was on the first day of release, more than a million players were playing Halo 3. The total sales over time amount to 14.5 million. It was crowned the best selling game of its year. Even critics woke up on the right side of the bed for this game’s review. And the rest is gaming history.
Get set, get ready space marines! The official Twitter account of Halo announced the arrival of the highly coveted console game on PCs. It’ll be available for purchase next Tuesday. This will be the next installment of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Fans will recall at the end of the second game, and the story was left at a significant cliffhanger, noted in gaming history. Master Chief has just landed after hitching a ride through space, as he is questioned about what he thinks he is doing. Chief replies, “Finishing the Fight”. End. And that is precisely what the third installment aims to provide you; jam-packed fighting. And finishing. The multiplayer has been the USP of the Halo trilogy, and the third edition will hopefully carry the baton.
343 Industries, the publishers of the game, announced on July 3 through a Tweet that Halo 3 is coming to PC, on July 14.
Before the announcement for Halo 3 PC was made, other titles were announced such as multiplayer modes of Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved/Halo: Anniversary and Halo 2/Halo 2 Anniversary.
PC gamers who have played the first two games and not the third are the ones who are awaiting the game the most. Since the single-player mode left them on a massive cliffhanger.
The news will be followed by the Xbox Series X showcase scheduled for later this month. Microsoft will show FP games, which is going to have the next phase of Master Chief’s adventure, Halo Infinite. Everybody should beware, Cortana, The Covenant, they are all in the mix. Halo 5 left people with more questions than answers.
