Connect your iPhone and your PC or Mac with a USB cable. And make sure that you have switched off your phone and are running iTunes or Finder on your desktop before connecting the devices.
Press and hold the Side or the On/Off button of your iPhone for 3 seconds.
While holding the On/Off button, press and hold the volume down button as well.
Hold both the buttons for 10 seconds and if you see the Apple logo appearing on screen, you will have to redo the procedure.
If you don’t see anything appearing on screen, then release the side button while continuing to hold the volume button for about five more seconds. If you see “Plug into iTunes” appearing on screen, then you will have to redo the whole procedure. If not, then your device has entered the DFU mode.
Your Mac or Windows desktop would detect your mobile, and it will begin to restore.
Putting iPad with FaceID in DFU mode
Begin with turning off your iPad and connecting it with your Mac or Windows PC. Also, start running iTunes or the Finder on your PC before beginning.
Press and hold down the Power button for 3 seconds.
After 3 seconds, continue to press the Power button along with pressing and holding the volume down button. Continue to hold both the buttons together for 10 seconds.
If the Apple logo appears on the screen, you will have to redo the whole procedure. If not, release the side button while continuing to hold the volume down button for five more seconds.
If the screen of your iPad Pro remains black, then the device has successfully entered the DFU Mode.
Procedures for entering into the DFU mode on Apple devices are more or less similar to each other. Once your device enters the DFU mode, you can downgrade the firmware, if required.
